   Mesoscale Discussion 1027
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0358 PM CDT Wed May 28 2025

   Areas affected...central Texas

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 343...

   Valid 282058Z - 282230Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 343
   continues.

SUMMARY...Several supercells to persist through the afternoon with a
   primary threat of large hail.

DISCUSSION...A few supercells have developed in central Texas and
have recently started to turn right. The north-easternmost storm has
recently produced baseball sized hail in Hamilton County, Texas. A
favorable environment persists south of this activity which should
maintain this threat through the afternoon and into the early
evening. Eventually, these storms may congeal as they move southeast
which would result in an increased severe wind threat. However, in
the near term, large hail is the primary threat.

Farther southwest convective attempts continue but it remains
unclear whether additional mature supercells may develop. If they
do, a similar environment will support supercells capable of large
to very large hail, similar to the storms farther east.
